Risingstar padded into her den. The storm had finally let up and she had returned to camp. The ginger leader flopped down on her nest, fluffing up her fur and shaking water off of her fur. Risingstar stretched out on her side, eyes half closed. The rain was light now but she had seen darker clouds on the distant horizon. The storm wasn't done but she was. With that last thoguht Risingstar drifted off to sleep. __________________________
Risingstar woke late, it was past sunhigh and heard no rain. It had finally stopped. Risingstar stretched, her muscles aching in protest. Her body felt heavy and her throat felt raw. Risingstar was tempted to go see Dawnflower but decided against it. It was much easier just to stay in her nest and rest.
The ginger leader heard her warriors moving around in the camp and hoped Lionstone was keeping them in line. Risingstar stretched again before curling up deep in her nest. Her eyes, glazed slightly, closed half way.
Risingstar's breath rattled in her chest and she felt uncomfortable. The leader fell into a coughing fit, collapsing on her nest with her breath coming in raspy gasps. This wasn't good but Risingstar didn't fear death. She had nine lives but still, loosing one to sickness was a waste. She was to give her lives for her clan.
When Risingstar tried to get up to find Dawnflower her limbs gave out and she fell into another coughing fit. Not goodRisingstar thought, her eyes sliding closed.

It was Dawnflower's mew that sounded above all shock. She hauled the ill leader to her feet and half dragged her into the Medicine Cat's den. Letting her flop down into a moss nest, she began mixing a poultice. Taking a few juinper berries out, the Medicine Cat rolled them over to Risingstar without taking her eyes off of the mixture. Once it was done, she pushed it into Risingstar's mouth, watching it slide easily down her throat. The juniper berries followed simultaniously.

Risingstar let her head rest against the ground once Dawnflower was done pushing herbs down her throat. Her breathing had eased a bit but her eyes were hurting horribly from the sudden exposure to light when she was half dragged from her den.
"You know Dawnflower, I would have been fine" Risingstar rasped. "I'm stronger then some common cold."

"Yes, of course you would," Dawnflower assured gently through a mouthful of wet moss. It would be good to let Risingstar drink. She looked worn-out and thirsty. Giving Risingstar a quick sniff, she comfirmed that she was dehidrated.
"Drink this, please."
Turning around, trusting that the she-cat would follow her orders, hopefully, she padded into her herb stores, trying to find what she needed.

Risingstar didn't fight back, instead she did as she was told and laid with her eyes half closed. "Thank you Dawnflower. Have you checked Runningfoot? He was out in the rain yesterday."

She nodded.
"Of course. He had a cough, but we've fixed that. He's getting me more juniper, or at least making sure someone does."
Blinking at her leader, she gave the herbs time to work by sitting down, gazing at Risingstar. After a few moments, she blinked again, then asked, "Feel any better? They're not supposed to take full effect immediatly, but they should be helping a little."
Yawning, she flopped down, still blinking sleepily at Risingstar. She'd been up half the night tending to Runningfoot, and after that when she could have slept, she didn't sleep well. Shaking her head of all sleepiness, she let out another yawn.
